Meet the Team

Elliot Lurie

Role. I'm the owner of Custom Design Marketing. I run all client acquisitions and development, and direct all aspects of our international operation.

History. I'm a native of Washington State and Graduated from the University of Washington in 1985. I started CDM in 1987 by producing t-shirts for U of W fraternity and sorority events. They gave me half down my first order. And free beer.

Passions. I love getting out and meeting new clients and having a blast with our long-standing accounts. I get turned on coming to the rescue of a client by providing products, services or prices others said couldn't be done.

Obsessions. Dark Chocolate, Skiing and Golf. I also like an occasional beer. And I'm blaming the frats for that one.

Lori Horand

Role. I take care of all Accounts Payables and Receivables, Customer Service and Vendor Relations. I also have a few clients I work with directly because they are my favorites.

History. I started in the industry over 12 years ago. I joined Custom Design Marketing five years ago and never looked back.

Passions. I'm an organizational fanatic. I thrive on keeping all of our client's orders, paperwork, requests, etc. so systemized that they can ask me about the status of anything and I have an immediate and accurate answer.

Obsessions. I love spending time with my five awesome kids and 4 equally awesome grandkids. I also like antiquing, working out and Snickers Blizzards. Yeah, I know. I could probably work out less if I didn't have the obsession with the Blizzards, huh?

Nina Martinka

Role. Product research, customer service, vendor relations, order processing, new client relations…. But, I don’t do windows!

History. 7 Years and counting in the industry with the unique combination of experience from working on both the vendor and supplier side of the business. 2007 was my first year with CDM and I look forward to many more.

Passions.I am a true product researcher. I enjoy shopping suppliers, negotiating the best pricing and impressing our clients with presentations of an array of product choices. Finding that one special thing that meets and exceeds the needs of our clients is ultimately the name of the game!

Obsessions. Did you say Ob-chocolate, Ob-coffee or Ob-shoes? Okay, okay, I do have 3 wonderful children that I love and adore. I am the typical on-the-go working mom with a permanent TAXI sign lit up ready to carpool! I truly enjoy supporting my children in all their endeavors. I am always game for the movies, shopping and road trips!

Bob Dawson, CITE

Bob is no stranger to looking at Return On Investment opportunities. As a commercial banker for ten years during the 1970's, Bob was selected to be a U.S. Small Business Administration ( SBA ) Certified Lending Officer. Using his financial and management skills, Bob entered the travel industry in 1982. As a travel agency owner in the New England area, Bob built a successful travel business which included corporate, incentive group and leisure clients.

Bob has authored two home-study courses related to Incentive Motivation, a step by step ROI Guide and has lectured on the topic of Incentive ROI to corporate executive audiences worldwide, and is considered an expert in this field. Bob’s role with Custom Design Marketing is to introduce and develop Incentive and Recognition Programs that deliver an ROI for our valued customers.
